Thanks to everyone who came out and had a great time at this year's annual Desert Sharks summer picnic. The grill was hot and food was fantastic! A special thanks goes out to Cindy and Steve, and anyone else involved in organizing this wonderful annual event.

207 adult racers and 80 kids successfully completed the race!
A special thanks to any Shark volunteers who attended. We couldn't do it with you!
And a VERY special thanks to the Race Team---Liz McClain, Shelly Wedge, Amy Empey, Cindi Glenn, Heather Woichik, and Jen Leatham - who put in much time and effort to ensure the Shark Attack was a success, once again!

How Long Have You Been a Shark? Almost 2 Years
First Ever Triathlon (Race, Year): Magnathon, 2007
What Got You Into Triathlon: Not exactly sure, I've just had this inner desire to do one since I was a kid. After 9 years of marriage and turning into a couch potato, a neighbor got me out running and 6 months later I did my first tri... The rest is history!
Most Memorable Triathlon Race Experience: Each race has a special memory, but nothing beats seeing my wife and kids at the finish line of those races they are able to attend.
Favorite Workout: I love trail running in the winter, especially when there's a fresh blanket of snow on the trail.
Biggest Tri Achievement to Date: Ironman St. George 2010
Biggest Race Pet Peeve: Getting passed by someone jamming away to an iPod
Future Triathlon Aspirations: I'd love to qualify for Kona one day, but I've still got a lot of work to do in that department.
Anything Else Do You Care To Share? There is something about triathlon that you can only really share with someone who has been there and done it themselves. Joining the Sharks has not only helped me improve in all areas of the sport, but it's given me the opportunity to socialize with people who know that feeling. Thanks Everyone!
