| Latest Club News 2010 SHARK ATTACK TRIATHLON: Registration Now Open! Registration for the 2010 Shark Attack triathlon is now open! It will be held on June 12th, 2010, at the South County Pool in Riverton (same locale as last year). Please visit the Shark Attack website for more information and details. Spread the word! It’s going to be another great race! If you can’t race, we always need volunteers!! Please contact Jen Leatham for volunteer opportunities.

2010 POINTS SERIES: Races and Clinics Being Finalized We are pleased to announce 3 Points Series races —with more to come—and the Points Series Clinics (tentative) for the 2010 season. Points Series Races:

If you are an active member of the Desert Sharks Triathlon Club and this section is either not visible or inaccessible to you, please contact our Membership Coordinator, Dave Moore, with the name you used to register your membership as a Desert Shark and the screen name you selected as your log on ID for the forum. Birthplace: American Fork, UT Current Hometown: Cottonwood Heights, UT Forum Name: Chuck H How Long Have You Been a Shark? Since Summer 2009 First Ever Triathlon (Race, Year): Kearns Spring Sprint, 2009 What Got You Into Triathlon: I've always had a goal to train and finish at least one Triathlon, and during Fall of 2008 I signed up for the St. George Tri. After my first race I caught the racing bug. Most Memorable Triathlon Race Experience: Crossing the finish line at my first race! Favorite Workout(s): Long runs along the Millcreek Pipeline trail with a stop to check out the view of the valley. Biggest Tri Achievement to Date: Finishing top 5 AG in two races during 2009, and continuing improvement over 6 races completed in 2009. Biggest Race Pet Peeve: Flat tires! Future Triathlon Aspirations: Short-Term: building speed on the bike and run. Long-term: Finishing a Half Iron race. Anything Else Do You Care To Share? Training and racing has really become an integral part of my lifestyle. The triathlon community is a close-knit group of very passionate and driven people!

February Running Group Training Its time to ramp up the running for the USAT Winter Challenge! February is the final leg in the Challenge, the run. The Sharks will be hosting running sessions each weekend during February. Check the Forum for details weekly. Check the Forum for details weekly.
February 18th, 7pm. The time is quickly approaching for the annual Desert Sharks’ Newbie Clinic! This is the time to get those who are sticking their toes in the water to jump in! Tell your friends to join us for an informative and fun night! The Newbie Clinic will be held at the SLC REI, 3285 East 3300 South. Don’t forget, this is a Points Series event! Desert Sharks Tri Club 6th Annual Swim ClinicMarch 6th, 7am to 10am. The Desert Sharks Triathlon Club is proud to present the 6th Annual Indoor Swim Clinic. This is a swimming clinic for all skill levels. This years instructors include BJ Christenson, Malaika Homo, Sandy McGann, Leslie Howlett, Josh Pettit, Chuck Harward, and others still being finalized. The clinic will include classroom instruction and pool instruction based on skill level. Videotaping of the swimmers stroke will also be done for analysis by the instructors. Enrollment is limitedso sign up early. The cost is $15 for Desert Shark members and $25 for non-members. Registration can be found HERE.
